Craft Therapy
Sometimes, it’s easier to talk when your hands are busy. Craft Therapy brings together the grounding, regulating benefits of making with the reflective, relational space of counselling.
You’re welcome to bring your knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, felting, or drawing project to your session. We’ll work alongside each other on our own pieces while talking at your pace.
This approach can be especially helpful if:
You feel anxious or nervous about starting therapy – focusing on your craft can make the first steps into conversation feel more natural.
Eye contact feels overwhelming – working side-by-side provides a softer way of connecting without pressure.
You find it easier to talk when you’re doing something with your hands – creativity can ease tension and help words flow.
You want to regulate emotions or soothe stress – repetitive, tactile movements can be calming for the nervous system.
Craft Therapy blends the comfort of making with the support of counselling – creating a gentle, grounding space to reflect, explore, and heal.
